Amenemhat (IV) Maakherure

Burial place: Unknown

Possibly son of Amenemhet III and Queen Hetepi.

Amenemhat IV had a short reign. An inscription dated to his fifth year from Kummeh (Nubia) records the height of the Nile. Inscriptions from the Sinai, dated to year six show that the mines there are operational at this time. Amenemhat IV may have ruled for some time alongside Queen Neferusobek.

Building Program:

Mazghuna: The north pyramid at this site is usually attributed to Amenemhat IV.

Medinet Madi: A small temple dedicated to Sobek Horus en Renenutet was erected by Amenemhet III and his son Amenemhet IV.
