I am Bill Meisel and I am a professor at Florida Community College at Jacksonville's Downtown Campus.

I am taking this course because I am interested in the connection between art and mathematics.

I am also interested in understanding the 17 wallpaper patterns in a more rigorous way; I am still not always able to recognize a wallpaper pattern when I see it, and I would like to be able to. (That is a personal goal.)

Since I teach at a community college, I do not control the course numbering system or the content. So, I do not know if I will be able to introduce any of this material into my classes. I will be interested in the plans of others who teach at the community college level.

Boring Stuff: I have a B.A. in Theater, a B.S. in Math Education (from Florida State University)

and an M.S. in Statistics (from the University of North Florida)
